Ir Professor Daniel M. Cheng BBS. MH, JP is the Managing Director of Dunwell Industrial (Holdings) Ltd, he is the Honorary President of Federation of Hong Kong Industries and the President of Hong Kong Environmental Industries Association, Board member of Business Environment Council and Deputy Chairman of Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance.   Prof Cheng is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers and also Registered Professional Engineer.  For HKSAR Government, he is also serving as Member of The Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development, Member of the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-industrialisation, Member of Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund.  Member of the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Electric Vehicles, Member of HKX Advisory Committee.   Prof Cheng was the Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries (Jul 2015– Jul 2017), the Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (Jul 2013- Jul 2017), the member of Vocational Training Council (2011–2015), the member of Hong Kong Productivity Council (2009–2015), the Chairman of the Board of Friends of the Earth (FoE) (2000-2004), the Chairman of Hong Kong Waste Management Association (2000–2001).  Prof Cheng also served as the member of Advisory Committee on Water Supplies (Apr 2016 – Mar 2020), the member of the Energy Advisory Committee (2014-2016) for HKSAR Government. 

Mr. Alan Cheung, MH

Alan graduated from the University of Hong Kong & founded Grandion Industrial Ltd. (a member of Grandion Group) in 1996. Grandion is an apparel supply chain solution provider with production facilities located in China & Hong Kong.

In 2015, Grandion launched an innovative industrial project called TML (To make locally) in HK. The TML project unleashes the competitive advantages of Hong Kong with top design talents; free flow of goods, information and funds; and a sound legal system. TML deploys state-of-art technologies & smart supply chain solutions to extend the Group’s capability from an OEM/ODM manufacturer to an Online to Offline (O2O) customised solutions provider in the data economy.  

In view of the "aging population" issue, Alan performed impact investment to the Longevity Group in early 2018 and served as chairman. The Longevity Group has then been transforming from a social enterprise into a business platform with social purposes to design and create an inclusive & smart home for the elderly through crossover collaboration with different industrial & technology enterprises. Longevity keeps striving to be an effective & reliable service provider for the elderly with the aim in helping Hong Kong becomes a smart city on elderly. 

The operating purpose of the TML and Longevity project is to generate economic value whilst at the same time creating value for society by achieving a sustainable & diversified development of Hong Kong enterprises. Mr Cheung is appointed as the advisory board or vetting committee members in various Government Bureaus & Organisations in providing advises on Economic & trade development, Innovation & Technology, Vocational & Professional Education, Start-ups incubation, Social Enterprises, Social Innovation and Design Thinking application. Alan also acts as the mentors to support young designers & start-ups to develop their brands and businesses. Furthermore, he actively collaborates with social entrepreneurs to social innovations to improve & tackle the social issues. 

Dr. Ilex Lam

Ilex founded iEnterprise in 2012 leveragingon over 25 years of professional experience in investment management and carried on his research interest in sustainable entrepreneurial models, creating shared values via cross sector partnership and his passion to unleash neglected abilities in a caring community.

In early 2014, iEnterprise collaborated with HKBN and HKRP to set up “1083 Telephone Enquiries ” call center in HK, providing employing opportunities for people with disability and underprivileged community. His tripartite collaborative model (Social Enterprise-Business Enterprise-NGO) was featured in “Creative, Hong Kong” TV program in 2015. This cross boundaries partnership was also reported as a case model in the paper titled “Innovation that Unlock the Resources of Business for the Common Good” by Asia Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy of National University of Singapore in 2016. iEnterprise received the Gold Award for the Best Call Center in 2014, Web Accessibility Gold Award and Recognised Designer Award from Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme in 2018.

Professor Alan Chow

Former CEO of The D.H.Chen Foundation

 

Prof. Alan Chow is currently an Adjunct Professor at the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also serves as advisor of several local family foundations and board members of non-profits. Prof. Chow had an illustrious career in the financial and commercial sectors having held different senior management positions at various leading international financial institutions and a listed company in Hong Kong before he joined The D. H. Chen Foundation as its Chief Executive Officer in 2013, a post he held until end of 2019.

The unique combination of experiences from the financial and philanthropic sectors
complemented with extensive involvement on both the funder and NGO side has enabled Prof. Chow to bring creative ideas and innovative solutions to addressing social issues, to apply his knowledge in governance, strategic planning and financial management to building capacity for non-profits, and to bridge the gaps between funders & NGOs. As a firm believer of “investing today, impacting tomorrow”, Prof. Chow is most passionate about education, youth development and capacity building for NGOs. He also enjoys connecting funders, NGOs and other like-minded partners to collaborate for social betterment.

Mr. Albert Au 

Founder of Acesobee Limited  

 

Albert is the founder of AcesoBee, the creator of TeamCare,  a mobile Personal Care Plan (PCP) and Point of Care (POC)  system transform from the bedside nursing care plan used in Hospital.

A self-made entrepreneur in the eHealth and HealthTech industry, Albert started out as a Healthcare Solutions Specialist at IBM China / Hong Kong. In 1999, he successfully founded his first business venture Healthbasic.com, the then no. 1 healthcare portal in Hong Kong and the no. 2 clinic solutions software provider for over 200 private clinics. Healthbasic.com was acquired by Quality Healthcare and eHealthcareAsia, a Hong Kong-listed in 2001.

AcesoBee is a new eHealth venture founded by Albert to realize his passion of developing a portable and affordable personal care plan solution for all. Currently an incubatee of the Hong Kong Cyberport Incubation Programme, AcesoBee has officially established itself in the professional eHealth community by becoming a registered member of HL7 HK and a certified service provider of the HKSAR eHealth Record CMS On-Ramp Implementation Programme. In March 2016, AcesoBee was recognized with a Bronze Award and Social Impact Award at the HKUST Alumni Startup Awards.

Albert holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science and an MBA degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Gary Wong 

Head and Director of Public Affairs and Marketing at Gaw Capital 

 

Gary Wong Chi-him is Head and Director of Public Affairs and Marketing at Gaw Capital, a global private equity real estate company, responsible for managing communications, media relations, government and community affairs, brand and marketing of 29 community shopping centres in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was Director of Public Affairs (Asia Pacific) at GLG, the world’s largest knowledge marketplace. He was also Deputy Head of Sales in China and Assistant to Chairman at a local listed company, Yip’s Chemical.

Gary is a Non-Official Member of Commission on Children, a Member of the Equal Opportunities Commission, a Member of the Sir David Trench Fund Committee of Home Affairs Bureau, a Member of Sub-committee on Promotion & Publicity of Volunteer Service of Social Welfare Department, a Council Member of Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macao Studies and a Member of the Advisory Board for the Master of Arts in International Affairs of Lingnan University. 

Gary has been committed to philanthropy. He is Founder and Board Member of InspiringHK Sports Foundation, a local charity aiming at increasing social mobility of underprivileged young people, promoting gender equality, social inclusion and healthy lifestyle. So far, the charity has been developing thousands of children and youth through long-term sports training and learning experience activities. 

Gary graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a BA majoring in Translation and then obtained an LLB from the University of London. He was a British Chevening Scholar and received a Master of Studies (MSt) in Diplomatic Studies at the University of Oxford, concentrating on China-US relations.    

Ms. Nicolette Tong  

Executive Vice President, The Wave

 

Nicolette Tong, currently the Executive Vice President of The Wave. The Wave is an integrated entrepreneurial platform incorporating event spaces, co-working spaces and serviced offices. As a helmsman of The Wave, Nicolette values creating sustainable development and has a pioneering role in creating shared value. She has helped 500+ start-ups and SMEs to grow in the previous years.

The Wave was awarded the title of B corporation since 2017, and became the first certified B corporation in Hong Kong. By using its own business power to improve the economic, environmental and social conditions of the community, it successfully bring a positive impact to the business community. Not only does it make profit, but it also give back to the society.

Meanwhile, she is the leader of The STILE Initiative, an investment-backed accelerator programme based in Hong Kong which focuses on a mutually beneficial and sustainable business ecosystem. With her forward-looking business sense, she has led many start-ups to achieve impressive result of KPIs.

Besides, she is also a certified ICF/ ACSTH Organizational Coaching Practitioner. She shares her life and career experience with mentees and follows up with them on the progress toward their goals.

Nicolette is highly experienced in business management. She worked as a regional Vice President of Operations and IT at Compass Office and was the Group General Manager at The Executive Centre, helping the company developed corporate service standards which was an extensive network of 1,000 employees and enabled the company to expand over the world.

Mr. Steven Tsoi

Steven Tsoi is the Co-founder of SONOVA and Chief Impact Evangelist at Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk), an impact purpose organisation committed to innovating social change for Hong Kong. Since 2017, Steven has spearheaded EXTRA MILE, the community investment project of the Airport Authority of Hong Kong. As Hong Kong's first case of Creating Shared Value, EXTRA MILE has brought over 20 companies operating at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) together with local NGOs to develop new models of employment in Hong Kong's aviation sector for local communities.

Steven has over twenty years of experience in the Hong Kong media scene, and over ten years of experience working with the corporate sector on executive training programmes, with clients such as Adidas, Estee Lauder, Lee Kum Kee and FWD Hong Kong. He currently is Programme Host at Metro Broadcast and a notable emcee for large-scale public events. He was previously a Producer of the acclaimed TEDx conference series through the independent TEDxKowloon conference and Editor-in-Chief at Startup Magazine.

Steven holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Communications (Radio Production) from RMIT University

Gary is an athlete, business strategy consultant and young social entrepreneur who believes in “Doing Good in Business” paths the way to the future business. Currently he is responsible to drive incubations, impact investment, social innovation and creating shared value projects within and beyond New World Group.

Prior to his current role, Gary has worked in both entertainment and sports industry. His experience covers in business development & strategic partnership, project management, talent acquisition & development, employer branding and sports development.

Gary held a view that Athlete’s potential is not confined to sports area. Instead, their qualities, connections and life skills acquired from sports training make them a high-flyer in the corporate world. To take the lead, Gary has co-founded OnBoard, a social enterprise under New World Development to provide support to athlete on their post-retirement career transition. Gary’s vision is to empower and provide opportunities for fellow Hong Kong athletes and young talent to unleash their potential in the business world.

Gary has got his bachelor degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and he was an exchange scholar from the National University of Singapore. He is also a two-time national representative in Asian Games and he has represented Hong Kong in various International Tournaments.

Gary is also a regular speaker, judge, advisor, and mentor for schools and case competitions in Hong Kong: Guest Lecturer of Master of Health Education at The Education University of Hong Kong and Judges of Hong Kong Shared Good Values Case Competition 2019 and Enactus Hong Kong Regional Competition 2020.
